Mid-week writing update.

How is everyone? I hope you're all having a fabulous week.

I just finished another chapter on my JaNo WIP, and I wanted to tell you a few things I've learned in the last couple of days.

#1. I sing when finish a chapter. Nothing fantastic, more like whatever's on my mind. And usually not at the beginning of a song, just the middle of a chorus or something. Like my brain can switch out of writing mode long enough to remember what it was focused on before. My hubby gives me a look and I sing a little more. Then I keep writing. It's weird.

#2. I've never had this happen before, so I'm thinking it's a pregnancy thing. All this writing is making me swell up. I actually think it's the writing and sitting. By the end of the night, my feet hurt to walk on and my fingers feel like sausages. It's gross.

#3. Have you heard of The Piano Guys? They're awesome! Go here and listen to these guys play. I love their music! Some of my favorites are Coldplay's Paradise (African style), The Cello Song, Adele's Rolling in the Deep (just piano and cello), The Harry Potter piano piece, and the Pirates of the Caribbean piano piece. Kind of a long list, but if you like instrumentals it's worth watching!

So, what have you discovered lately?

  1. I love singing and writing and swelling too - at least pregnancy swelling. I've only got 4 weeks left to go before my due date. I've discovered that having a due date makes my writing deadlines more important - this baby might be my muse ;) Anyway, we have fun writing together. After the birth, I'm going to wear him/her in a scarf to keep the inspiration flowing!

  2. I think the swelling is part of the pregnancy :) At least, I would hope so. That has never happened to me while writing! And I love the Piano Guys, too.

    Keep singing! Keep writing!

  3. I'd never heard of the Piano Guys but I just checked them out- awesome!!! Today I mentioned the Vitman String Quartet on my blog. They're similar but just strings. They do a lot of popular song covers. Check them out on Youtube!
