Book Signing of Awesomeness.

A week ago, I attended my very first book signing! Need a hint?

In case you can't see the books they are: Die For Me, Illusions, Love Bites, Hereafter, and Divergent.

Awesome right? I know. And I never thought I'd be so nervous to meet a published author. I was kind of a wreck and to top it all off, my voice was gone. I had all these questions planned and visions of the conversations we'd have...and well, it didn't go that way.

To start it off, I don't have any writer friend's here and all my reading buddies were busy so I brought along a (very awesome) friend that went shopping in the mall while I stood in line for the signing. Sad day. Where are all my writing friends? Well, not here in Portland.

Each writer told the audience a little about their book/books. Then it was open for question and answer.

This is Amy Plum talking about her book Die For MeDie for Me (Revenants, #1)

This is Tara Hudson talking about her book HereafterHereafter (Hereafter, #1)

This is Aprilynne Pike talking about her book IllusionsIllusions (Wings, #3)

This is Veronica Roth talking about her book DivergentDivergent (Divergent, #1)

And sadly, I didn't get a good picture of Ellen Schreiber talking about her book. But that's her on the right and she wrote the book Love BitesLove Bites (Vampire Kisses, #7)

These are Aprilynne's shoes. Yes, I took a picture. I thought they were fabulous!

And this is me with three of the ever inspiring authors on the book signing tour! Thanks so much ladies. I'll tell everyone to read your books...I just need to read them all first :)

But I've heard great things about them and I can tell you for sure that Aprilynne Pike's book's are worth your time! Want a hot fairy? She's got it!

Have you read any of these books? Ever been to a book signing? Did you get nervous like me?

  1. I loved Hereafter. I'm sad this tour didn't come through my town. Sigh. I want to read Die for Me, but haven't gotten the book yet.

  2. Love the picture of the shoes! ;) I've only been to one book signing and it was at storymakers. I'm hoping to go to a few this year though! :)

  4. I adore book signings and you know I've been to a ton. I'm thankful to have several girls to hang out with and have dinner with before attending a book signing. Evidently Houston is one place to be when it pertains to book signings - especially YA.

You got some great books and great pictures. I've heard great things on the book ends though I haven't gotten a chance to read ANY of them yet!

  5. My first book signing was with Jessica Day George and I totally went fangirl on her. Even went to the store to buy her some colored pens and wet wipes when she said she'd forgotten the pens her husband bought her and always got ink all over her from her cool dragon stamp. :)

When Aprilynne was on her Illusions tour in my town, she said that she was planning to buy some red shoes. Looks like she make the right choice! :)

  6. I went to the Utah Festival of Books a couple weeks ago and totally geeked out over James Dashner, Kiersten White, and Ally Condie. The one I was the worst with, though, was Natalie Whipple, who I just caught walking around. I almost cried when I was talking to her because I was sooo nervous. It was embarrassing!

  7. I've never been to a book signing but it looks like fun (except the waiting). I've read Wings by Aprilynne Pike and have been patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for Spells to come out in Paperback. What's taking so long???

  10. I met Aprilynne last year in Kansas City. I thought I was so cool and calm until I finally met her and felt not so cool and calm. Oh well...maybe one day that will be some of us up there on the panel.

  11. I live in a really small town and so I haven't had many opportunities to attend book signings. But Obert Skye did come to a town thirty miles away and I went and listened to him talk. That was my first inclination that authors are actually normal people.
